Multiple-choice tests you can share with a link
Horvan Examy is a free tool by Horvans for making multiple-choice (MCQ) tests. You write or import questions (formulas work), or pick them from the public question bank, share a link and see every score. Takers get an NTA-style timer and question palette. Horvan Examy is not made by, linked to or approved by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
What Examy does
MCQ tests, in the browser. Nothing to install.
Write or import questions
Type questions with formulas, or import a CSV file of questions, options and answers.
Public question bank
Optionally add questions from a bank that has only openly licensed questions and official past papers. The source is credited on each question.
Share a link
Anyone with a Horvans account and the link can take the test while it is open.
Timer and palette
A countdown, answered / not answered / marked-for-review colours, and jumping between questions.
Proctoring, only if you turn it on
Full screen, tab-switch logging, copy blocking, and an optional screen share or camera self-view. People see every option before they start.
Results and CSV
Scores, time taken, and how many got each question right. Download everything as CSV. People see their own result.
What to know before you start
The limits, said plainly.
- Proctoring is not surveillance. The camera and screen share stay on the test-taker’s device. Horvans never uploads or stores video or screenshots; it keeps only a log of events such as “left full screen”.
- Proctoring can be worked around. A browser cannot see a second phone or a person in the room. Use it for practice tests, not for high-stakes exams.
- MCQ only. Single-correct multiple-choice questions with negative marking if you want it. No written answers.
- Question bank credits stay with the questions. Openly licensed questions keep their licence; official past-paper questions belong to the exam body.
Practise without making a test
Questions from the public question bank, scored on your device.
- NEET-style paper. 180 questions: Physics 45, Chemistry 45, Botany 45, Zoology 45. +4 / −1, 720 marks.
- JEE Main-style MCQ paper. 60 questions: Physics, Chemistry and Maths, 20 each. +4 / −1, 240 marks.
- Your own test. Any subject and chapter, 1 to 180 questions, your marking, timed or untimed.
- Nothing to lose. A reload or a lost connection keeps your answers; the score stays on your device.
Questions about Horvan Examy
Short, plain answers.
What is Horvan Examy?
Horvan Examy is a free tool by Horvans for multiple-choice tests. You write questions or import them from a CSV file, share one link, and see each taker's score, time and answers. It runs in the web browser, with nothing to install.
Do I need an account?
Making a test and taking a test someone shares from the Examy app need a Horvans account, because scores are saved for the person who made the test. Google sign-in is being set up, so you cannot sign in yet. The practice test needs no account and keeps scores on your own device.
What question types does it support?
Multiple-choice questions with one correct answer out of four options, with optional negative marking. Formulas in maths, physics and chemistry are written with LaTeX, for example $x^2$. Written or numerical answers are not supported.
Can I take a NEET-style or JEE Main-style practice test?
Yes. The practice test offers a NEET-style paper of 180 questions for 720 marks and a JEE Main-style MCQ paper of 60 questions for 240 marks, built from official past papers and openly licensed questions. It copies the number of questions and the marking only.
Is proctoring on by default?
No. Every proctoring setting is off until the person who makes the test turns it on, and takers see each setting before they start. Camera and screen pictures stay on the taker's device; Horvans keeps only a list of events.
Is Examy linked to NTA?
No. Horvan Examy is not made by, linked to or approved by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Its timer and question palette look like the NTA computer-based tests so that practice feels familiar.
What happens if my internet drops during a test?
Answers wait on your device and are saved as soon as the connection returns. A small mark on each question shows answers not saved yet, and submitting tells you exactly how many are still waiting.
